The goal of Don’t Look Away is that educators and non-educators alike will learn from the history of early care and education and take action steps every day to embrace anti-bias classrooms. She studies the social, cognitive, and language development of low-income and minority children within various ecological contexts, such as parent-child interactions, early childhood education programs, early childhood workforce programs, and related state and federal policies. The fourth session of our book study delving into Don’t Look Away: Embracing Anti-Bias Classrooms. Tonia Durden, Ph.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor and Birth-5 Program Coordinator within the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Georgia State University. It invites us to honor all children’s humanity and to think deeply about what maximizing each child’s potential requires.
